European stocks close lower except in France

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stocks closed lower Friday except in France.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 0.53 point, or 0.11%, to finish at 460.83.

The UK's FTSE 100 decreased five points, or 0.08%, to end the session at 7,434. Germany's DAX 30, meanwhile, shed almost 36 points, or 0.22%, to 16,105.

Italy's FTSE MIB fell 111 points, or 0.39%, to 28,663 and Spain's IBEX 35 was down 40 points, or 0.43%, to end the day at 9,438.

France's CAC 40, on the other hand, increased 4.74 points, or 0.06%, to close at 7,374.
