European stocks close lower except in UK

Spain's IBEX 35 performs worst, losing 0.22%; UK's FTSE 100 rises 0.08%

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stocks closed lower on Wednesday except in the UK.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down 0.26 point, or 0.06%, to finish at 472.46.

Germany's DAX 30 lost 25 points, or 0.15%, to close at 16,766 and France's CAC 40 shed 12 points, or 0.16%, to finish the session at 7,531.

Italy's FTSE MIB decreased 46 points, or 0.15%, to end at 30,295.

Spain's IBEX 35 was the worst performer of the day, trimming 22 points, or 0.22%, to end the day at 10,096.

The UK's FTSE 100, on the other hand, rose five points, or 0.08%, to close at 7,548.
