European stocks close lower except in UK

France's CAC 40 performs worst, losing 0.22%; UK's FTSE 100 rises 0.04%

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock exchanges closed lower on Friday except in the UK.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down 1.21 point, or 0.26%, to finish at 469.24.

Germany's DAX 30 lost 12 points, or 0.07%, to close at 16,555 and Italy's FTSE MIB shed 66 points, or 0.22%, to end at 30,283.

France's CAC 40 was the worst performer of the day, trimming 29 points, or 0.4%, to finish the session at 7,371.

Spain's IBEX 35 decreased 22 points, or 0.22%, to end the day at 9,858.

The UK's FTSE 100, on the other hand, rose 2.84 points, or 0.04%, to close at 7,461.
