European stocks close lower except Spain

France's CAC 40 performs worst with 0.26% loss; Spain's IBEX 35 gains 0.25%

ISTANBUL (AA) — European stock exchanges ended Friday with losses except for Spain.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 0.68 points, or 0.13%, to finish the last trading day of the week at 522.94.

The UK's FTSE 100 lost 18 points, or 0.22%, to end the session at 8,420. Germany's DAX 30, meanwhile, shed 34 points, or 0.18%, to 18,704.

France's CAC 40 was the worst performer of the day, diving almost 21 points, or 0.26%, to close at 8,167.

Italy's FTSE MIB dropped 11 points, or 0.03%, to 35,398.

Spain's IBEX 35, on the other hand, rose 28 points, or 0.25%, to end the day at 11,327.
