European stocks rally to close higher

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock exchanges rallied Tuesday to close the session with gains.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European markets in 17 countries, rose 5.98 points, or 1.34%, to end the day at 452.60.

The UK's FTSE 100 was up 14 points, or 0.2%, to 7,440 at the final bell, while Italy's FTSE MIB added 419 points, or 1.45%, to 29,344.

Germany's DAX 30 was the best performer of the day, soaring 269 points, or 1.76%, to 15,614.

France's CAC 40 meanwhile gained 98 points, or 1.39%, to conclude the session at 7,185.

Spain's IBEX 35 added 161 points, or 1.71%, to end the second trading day of the week at 9,623.
