Europe's industrial output slightly down in November

ANKARA (AA) - Industrial production in Europe last November slipped slightly on an annual basis while seeing a month-on-month rise, Eurostat said on Wednesday.

EU industrial output declined 0.4% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, while climbing 2.3% month-on-month.

"In the EU27, production of energy fell by 5.3% and non-durable consumer goods by 2.6%, while production of intermediate goods rose by 1.7%, durable consumer goods by 1.4% and capital goods by 0.4%," Eurostat said, giving annual basis figures.

Among all member states for which data are available, Ireland (40.8%), Greece (8.8%) and Poland (2.9%) posted the highest increases in the same period, while the figure slipped the most in Bulgaria (minus 5.0%), France (minus 4.9%) and Italy (minus 4.2%).

Industrial output in the eurozone was also down 0.6% year-on-year in November, while rising 2.3% from a month earlier.

Meanwhile, the Turkish Statistical Institute revealed that Turkey's calendar-adjusted industrial production last November surged 11% on a yearly basis.
