EU's exports to Ukraine up 9.4% in 2024

European Union last year saw foreign trade surplus with Ukraine

ISTANBUL (AA) - The EU's goods exports to Ukraine surged to €42.8 billion ($48.65 billion) last year, while imports from Ukraine amounted to €24.5 billion.

Exports were up 9.4% while imports rose 7% year-on-year in 2024, Eurostat announced on Wednesday.

The EU posted a foreign trade surplus of €18.3 billion with Ukraine in 2024.

The main export products were mineral fuels with €6.8 billion, electrical machinery with €4.3 billion, and machinery with €4.2 billion.

"The key product groups imported from Ukraine in 2024 included agricultural products such as cereals, worth €4.4 billion, animal or vegetable fats and oils (€3.1 billion) and oil seeds and related products (€2.5 billion)," said the statistical authority.
