ANKARA, Turkey (AA) - Anadolu Agency is now holding well over 100 exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad featuring photos of last year's coup attempt, according to the agency’s director-general.
Senol Kazanci, the agency’s chairman and director-general, said their efforts are meant "to tell the world about the FETO treachery."
On July 15, 2016, the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) orchestrated a coup attempt which left 250 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.
Ankara also accuses FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.
Telling how agency reporters and photojournalists risked their lives to work under fire during the night of the coup, Kazanci said the agency will also be on duty on the anniversary of the July 15 coup attempt with exhibitions across all 81 of Turkey’s provinces and 48 venues abroad.
Since July 15 last year, over 400 AA exhibits have been held both in Turkey and aborad, he said, adding that they were organized with the support of local authorities and Turkey’s foreign missions.
He also said the agency had published a book titled “Minute by Minute: FETO’s Coup Attempt” in three languages to be distributed across Turkey and around the world.
