Explosions heard again in Iranian capital

ISTANBUL (AA) - Israel's attacks on Iran continued on Friday afternoon as fresh explosions were heard in the capital Tehran.

According to footage shared by Iranian media, the powerful blasts occurred in the western part of the city.

Iranian air defenses intercepted an Israeli missile south of Tehran, said the Iranian official outlet, Press TV Breaking, on X.

Israel launched a massive attack early Friday, deploying around 200 aircraft to target Iran's nuclear program and long-range missile capabilities. The strikes killed senior Iranian military officials as well as nuclear scientists.

Iran has vowed "severe punishment" and called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to hold Israel accountable for its actions.
