Former Norwegian justice minister stripped of duties
MP Per-Willy Amundsen lost his assignments after misogynic, Islamophobic posts on Facebook

IZMIR, Türkiye (AA) - Norwegian MP Per-Willy Amundsen will be stripped of his assignments in the Progress Party, except for his seat, until next January, the party announced.
The announcement came Tuesday after he wrote controversial posts about Islam and women on Facebook earlier this month
"With Norway and Israel against Arabs who kill people, as you are in the habit of doing. So go somewhere else with your morals. It's usually you who kill us. And Islam has a whole bunch of psychopaths who kill,” said one post.
“Congratulations to all boring women who want to hold men back. Congratulations! You have succeeded. We all pay the price. Boys fail across the board. Schools and kindergartens are affected by radical and incomprehensible gender theory. Created by radical women who don't know the ups and downs of a penis," he wrote on International Women's Day.
Amundsen, who had previously been justice minister, was removed from his post as chairman of parliament’s Justice Committee shortly after his comments.
"We take very seriously the case where Per-Willy Amundsen participated in a discussion on Facebook in a very unfortunate way. Statements were made that are completely unacceptable," said Anni Skogman, the head of the organizational committee, in a statement.
The decision means, among other things, Amundsen may not participate in the Progress Party's national meeting and other party activities during his suspension.
