Gaza municipality suffers from lack of fuel to run vital services
Spokesman warns about spread of health, environmental catastrophes due to accumulation of garbage on streets not being collected

GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - The Gaza municipality said Friday it suffers from the lack of fuel to run vital services, confirming that it did not receive fuel during a seven-day humanitarian pause.
Municipality spokesman Hosni Muhanna described the situation in Gaza City as "catastrophic due to the war and the no-entry of fuel for the municipality."
"We can't reopen the roads closed by the Israeli continued bombing across Gaza, whereas this issue hinders the work of the ambulances and rescue teams to reach the bombed areas," Muhanna told Anadolu
He said the water crisis is aggravating the humanitarian situation as "the municipality can't run the remaining water wells in Gaza" due to a lack of electricity and fuel.
The spokesman warned about the spread of health and environmental catastrophes due to the accumulation of garbage on streets not being collected.
The Israeli army resumed attacks across the Gaza Strip early Friday after the end of the humanitarian pause, causing hundreds of causalities among the Palestinians.
At least 109 Palestinians were killed and several others injured as Israel resumed striking various areas in the Gaza Strip following the end of the pause, said the Health Ministry in Gaza.
The pause between Israel and Hamas went into effect Nov. 24.
