ISTANBUL (AA) - The 10th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Regulatory Affairs Pharma Summit, hosted at Dubai’s Movenpick Grand Al Bustan, brought together over 650 professionals, including government officials, industry leaders, and regulatory experts, to shape the future of pharmaceutical regulation.

The summit on Feb.17-18 featured discussions on key regulatory topics, and was followed by the GCC Pharmacovigilance Training and GCC Medical Tender & Business Talk on Feb. 19-20, focusing on drug safety and procurement strategies.

The event concluded on Feb. 21 with an exclusive eCTD Training, equipping professionals with the latest regulatory submission practices.

Ruqaya Al Bastaki from the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) delivered a keynote address at the summit's opening ceremony, emphasizing how the EDE is reshaping the UAE’s regulatory landscape through expanded domains and innovative services to enhance healthcare safety.

"As regulatory frameworks continue to evolve, the GCC RA Pharma Summit serves as a crucial forum for discussing upcoming regulations and new guidelines shaping the pharmaceutical landscape,” said Mona Al Moussli, chairman of the GCC Regulatory Affairs Pharma Summit.

Najiba Al Shezawy, co-chairman of the summit, highlighted the event's success, saying: “The 10th edition witnessed an impressive turnout, with a large number of attendees and participation from top leading pharmaceutical companies.

"The diverse and extensive representation from across the industry highlights the summit’s significance as a premier gathering for regulatory affairs professionals.”

The event also saw strong participation from key regulatory authorities and organizations across the region, including EDE, Emirates Health Services, Dubai Health Authority from the UAE; Saudi Food and Drug Authority from Saudi Arabia, and University Medical City from Oman, among others.

The talks ignited groundbreaking discussions, valuable insights, and networking opportunities. Industry leaders, regulators, and innovators came together to shape the future of pharmaceutical regulations, reinforcing the summit as the region's premier platform for transformation and excellence.
