COLOGNE, Germany (AA) - Details have emerged about the suspect in an attack last Friday on a Christmas market in the German city of Magdeburg that killed five people and left more than 200 injured.

The attacker -- identified as Taleb Al-Abdulmohsen, a 50-year-old psychiatrist from Saudi Arabia who has lived in Germany since 2006 -- reportedly left a will in the vehicle he used in the assault.

According to the prominent German news magazine Der Spiegel, investigators discovered the document inside a BMW rented by Abdulmohsen just a day before the attack.

The contents of the will revealed his belief that he would die during the assault.

He also stated his intention to donate all his assets to the German Red Cross.

A further investigation revealed that Abdulmohsen gave a video interview on Dec. 12 at a Magdeburg hotel to a US-based activist group called RAIR Foundation USA.

During the interview, he praised billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk and controversial conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, raising further questions about his motivations and ideological leanings.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, with Abdulmohsen’s connections and actions leading up to the attack under scrutiny.
