China's reopening steps reflect on Germany's exports

ISTANBUL (AA) - Germany's exports totaled €130.4 billion ($139.4 billion) in April, up by 1.5% on a yearly basis, official figures from Destatis showed on Monday.
The country's exports were also up by 1.2% on a monthly basis, thanks to China's reopening steps, which increased imports from Germany.
German exports to China increased by 10.1% to €8.5 billion month-on-month in April.
The country's imports fell by 10.3% to €112 billion over the same period, Destatis said.
Germany's foreign trade surplus was at €18.4 billion in April, up from €14.9 billion in March.
The country's exports to the EU member countries amounted to €71.4 billion, while non-EU countries' share in Germany's exports was €59 billion in April.
The main destination of German exports was the US in April with €13.1 billion.
During the first five months of the year, the country's exports totaled €528 billion, and imports amounted to €462.4 billion.
