Germany's foreign trade balance sees surplus of $17.7B in September
Exports from Germany up 2% year-on-year in September while imports rise 4.8%

ISTANBUL (AA) - Germany's foreign trade surplus was at €15.3 billion ($17.7 billion) in September, lower than market expectation of €16.7 billion.
The country's exports rose 2% year-on-year in September to €131.1 billion, while imports climbed 4.8% to €115.9 billion, the federal statistical authority Destatis said on Friday.
On a monthly basis, exports rose 2%, while imports were up 3.1%.
Germany exported goods to fellow EU member states valued at €74.3 billion in September while it imported goods to them valued at €59.3 billion.
Exports of goods to countries outside the EU totaled €56.8 billion, while imports from these countries in the same period were €56.5 billion.
