Greece’s prime minister pledges to focus on economy, reforms
Protection of citizens’ disposable income, reducing unemployment primary goals, says Kyriakos Mitsotakis

ATHENS (AA) – Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis pledged Tuesday to focus on the economy and reforms amid ongoing criticism over his party’s disappointing results in European elections in June.
“We will push for a reform agenda. The elections will be held in 2027, and we will be judged for the results we have produced at the end of this four-year period,” Mitsotakis said in a discussion he attended at an international panel in Athens.
Maintaining that Greece performs better than the EU average in terms of the growth rate, he said the protection of citizens’ disposable income and reducing unemployment were the government’s primary economic goals.
Referring to the underperformance of the ruling New Democracy party, Mitsotakis said it remains the most dominant power in the country’s political scene and continues to attract the most votes from centrist and right-wing voters.
