ABUJA, Nigeria (AA) - Twenty people were killed when suspected gunmen stormed a market Saturday in northern Nigeria, according to media reports.
Thirty-five others were injured in the massacre carried out by unidentified attackers in the Sabon Birni region in Sokoto State.
The state is often targeted by armed groups. On Friday, 11 people, including children and an imam, were killed and others were wounded when suspected gunmen from the outlawed Yan Sakai vigilante group stormed a market in Mamande village in Gwadabawa local government.
