KARACHI, Pakistan (AA) - Gunmen killed at least three policemen in a late-night attack in southwestern Pakistan, police said on Sunday.
The attack took place in the Zhob district of Balochistan province when gunmen opened fire on a security vehicle on Saturday night.
One policeman was killed on the spot while another two succumbed to their wounds at the hospital on Sunday, the police said.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the attack and directed security forces to go "all out" to bring the perpetrators to justice.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but militants loyal to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Baloch separatists have long been targeting security forces and civilians across the province.
The mineral-rich Balochistan has seen a fresh wave of violence in recent months, with at least 74 people, including 21 terrorists and 14 security personnel, killed in multiple clashes and attacks that lasted several hours in different parts of the province last month.
Meanwhile, six people, including a child, were injured in a hand grenade attack on a hotel in Kharan district of Balochistan on Sunday, police said.
