'We affirm that this pure blood will not go in vain, will be a curse upon the (Israeli) occupation,' says Palestinian resistance group

GAZA (AA) - Hamas condemned on Thursday an attack by illegal Israeli settlers on the village of Jit in the northern West Bank, where they killed a Palestinian and set fire to homes and cars belonging to other residents.
In a statement, the Palestinian resistance group called for an insurgency and confrontation against the gangs of settlers.
"We mourn the heroic martyr Rashid Mahmoud Sada, who was killed by settler militias in the village of Jit, and we affirm that this pure blood will not go in vain and will be a curse upon the occupation," it added.
On Thursday evening, Israeli settlers killed a Palestinian citizen, seriously injured another and set fire to four homes and six vehicles owned by Palestinians during an incursion into the village of Jit in the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health and Israel’s Army Radio.
Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that the Israeli army provided protection to the settlers during their raid on the village.
In the wake of the settlers' raid and the killing of a Palestinian, Hamas considered the attack on Jit to be criminal and definitive evidence of Israel's policy and its eradication plans targeting the land and people of the West Bank.
The Israeli army expanded its operations in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, while settlers escalated their attacks on Palestinians there, resulting in 633 deaths and about 5,400 injuries since Oct. 7, 2023, according to official Palestinian data.
