Hezbollah claims it targeted Israeli military base in occupied Golan Heights
Rocket warning sirens were activated in nearby settlements in Golan Heights, Times of Israel reports

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Lebanese Hezbollah group on Friday said it targeted an Israeli military base in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights with dozens of Katyusha rockets.
The group said its fighters targeted the Israeli army's Kela base, in support of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in solidarity with the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli onslaught against Gaza.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damages, as the Israeli military has yet to comment on the incident.
The Times of Israel, however, reported the activation of rocket warning sirens in the nearby settlements in the Golan Heights.
This is the first reported incident of Hezbollah targeting Israeli military sites in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
Tension has flared along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid intermittent exchange of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.
The border tension comes amid an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
