No immediate comment from Israeli army on Hezbollah’s statements

BEIRUT (AA) – Hezbollah said on Friday that it had targeted three Israeli military gatherings in different areas opposite the southern Lebanese border and had achieved success.

Lebanon-based Hezbollah said in a statement that its members targeted a gathering of Israeli soldiers near the Rameem barracks in the occupied Lebanese village of Houla “with appropriate weapons” and achieved results.‏

Hezbollah fighters targeted another gathering of Israeli soldiers near the Al-Marj site, opposite the Lebanese town of Markaba, the resistance group said in a separate statement, without specifying casualties or damage to the Israeli military.

In another statement, Hezbollah said it "targeted a group of Israeli soldiers near the Tiyahat Triangle opposite the town of Meiss Al-Jabal.”

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army on Hezbollah’s statements at the press time.

However, the official Lebanese news agency reported that Israeli aircraft bombed the outskirts of the towns of Naqoura and Alma al-Shaab on Friday morning, as well as an airstrike targeting Wadi Hassan Kharraj and the town of Shihin in the western sector of southern Lebanon.

According to the National News Agency, Israeli aircraft also carried out a raid in the vicinity of Jal al-Alam in the eastern sector of southern Lebanon.

Tension has flared up along the Israel-Lebanon border amid intermittent exchange of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah.

The border tension comes as Israel widened its air and ground operations in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Israeli border towns on Oct. 7.
