BEIRUT (AA) - The Lebanese Hezbollah group on Thursday struck several Israeli army locations and settlements in northern Israel in response to the Israeli targeting of Lebanese homes in southern Lebanon.
In a statement, the Hezbollah said it targeted the settlements of Doviv and Avivim with appropriate weapons.
"The [Lebanese Hezbollah] resistance reiterates that it will not tolerate any harm to civilians and will not allow the violation of our towns and villages," the Hezbollah statement said.
In a second statement, the group said its fighters targeted gathering points of Israeli forces in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms, "using missile and artillery weapons," and claimed to achieve direct hits.
A third statement by the group also confirmed that the Hezbollah fighters carried out an aerial attack using three drones against newly-established gatherings of Israeli soldiers in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms, and achieved direct hits.
Other statements by the group over the day declared further attacks against Israeli military sites including Al-Jardah military point.
An early statement by the Hezbollah noted that its fighters fired incendiary rockets against the Branit Forest, northern Israel, in response to the Israeli burning of the Al-Raheb Forest.
Tension has flared along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid intermittent exchange of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.
The border tension comes amid an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
