Hezbollah targets Israeli military sites along border areas

Lebanese group claims targeting gatherings of Israeli soldiers along southern borders

BEIRUT (AA) – Lebanese group Hezbollah announced on Friday the targeting of several sites and gatherings of Israeli soldiers along the southern borders of Lebanon.

The group said in a statement that it “targeted the Israeli military point of the al-Jardah off the Lebanese border with Volcano missiles, and it was directly hit.”

In another statement, it pointed out that its members “targeted an Israeli force as it entered the headquarters of the Intelligence Battalion in Metat with appropriate weapons, resulting in casualties among its members, between killed and wounded.”

In a third statement, its fighters “targeted the Israeli site of Blida with appropriate weapons, and it was directly hit.”

Later, Hezbollah announced in separate statements on Friday evening that its fighters “targeted the Rameem barracks (in the occupied Lebanese town of Houla) and points of enemy soldiers' deployment and their vehicles in its vicinity with missile and artillery fire, achieving direct hits.”

It said that its fighters “targeted an Israeli infantry force east of the Haneeta site with appropriate weapons, achieving direct hits.”

It added that it "targeted the Israeli site of Al-Rahib off the Lebanese town of Ayta al-Shaab with Volcano missiles, achieving direct hits.”

As of 1445 GMT, there has been no comment from the Israeli side on the statements of the party.

Earlier on Friday, Hezbollah announced the death of one of its members in clashes with the Israeli army along the southern borders of Lebanon, bringing its death toll to 106 since Oct. 8.

In a statement, the group mourned “Hussein Ali Issa, from the town of Mays al-Jabal in southern Lebanon, who was martyred on the path to Jerusalem.”
