ISTANBUL (AA) - The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), a pro-Palestine organization, filed a formal request in Nepal for the arrest of Israeli Lt. Amit Nechmya and his extradition to Argentina, where he faces charges of war crimes and genocide.

HRF said Monday that it has “requested Nepal to arrest and extradite Israeli War criminal Amit Nechmya, now present there. Lt. Nechmya fled Argentina, after HRF had filed a case against him for war crimes in Gaza.”

HRF filed charges against Nechmya in Buenos Aires on Jan. 2 for severe violations of international law such as using human shields in Jabalia and Rafah, looting and destroying property in the Gaza Strip, and ordering forced displacement in Khan Younis. HRF said the case is supported by witness testimonies and evidence.

The organization added that recent evidence reveals that Nechmya attempted to destroy crucial proof of his role in Gaza's war crimes, highlighting the urgency of his capture.

Founded amid the Gaza genocide, the organization focuses on holding accountable those responsible for violence against Palestinians, including perpetrators and inciters.

The Belgium-based organization also filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) against more than 1,000 Israeli soldiers in October.
