Houthi group reports more US raids in northern Yemen

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Yemeni Houthi group reported additional American raids Friday in the north of the country.

“American aggression targeted the Saqayn district in western Saada province," said Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV, without providing details about casualties or property damage.

Saada is considered the main stronghold of the Houthi group and shares a land border with Saudi Arabia.

The US military, under the direction of President Donald Trump, started aerial raids Saturday against Houthi-controlled territories in Yemen, killing nearly 80 victims, according to Houthi officials.

Undeterred by the US attacks and threats, the group vowed to continue military operations against Israeli-linked ships until the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip is stopped and aid allowed into the enclave.

In solidarity with Gaza, the Houthis have attacked Israeli-linked ships in the Red Sea with missiles and drones since late 2023, disrupting global trade.

The group halted attacks when a Gaza ceasefire was declared in January. But it threatened to resume the attacks when Israel blocked all aid into Gaza on March 2.
