SANAA, Yemen (AA) - Houthi media reported Sunday that four US airstrikes targeted Yemen’s capital Sanaa.
According to the Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV, the strikes targeted the Jidar area in Bani al-Harith district, north of the Yemeni capital.
There have been no reports of casualties or destruction, while Washington has not commented yet.
US President Donald Trump said he had ordered a “decisive and powerful military action” against the Houthis and later threatened to “completely annihilate them.”
The Houthi group has been attacking Israeli-linked ships passing through the Red and Arabian seas, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Gulf of Aden with missiles and drones since late 2023, disrupting global trade for what it said is a show of solidarity with the Gaza Strip.
The group halted its attacks when a ceasefire was declared in January between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas, but it resumed the attacks when Israel renewed its assault on Gaza, where more than 50,250 people have been killed.
