BUDAPEST (AA) - Hungary’s Embassy in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv has resumed its operations, the Hungarian foreign and trade minister said on Tuesday.
Peter Szijjarto said the embassy, which was temporarily moved to Lviv on March 3, resumed its activities in Kyiv as the security situation improved in the city.
“We will stay in touch with Ukrainian government bodies and be able to provide assistance to Hungarian and other EU citizens in case of need,” he added.
At least 3,153 civilians have been killed and 3,316 others injured in Ukraine since the war with Russia began on Feb. 24, according to UN estimates. The true toll is feared to be much higher.
More than 5.4 million people have fled to other countries, with some 7.7 million people internally displaced, data from the UN refugee agency shows.
