BRUSSELS (AA) – A Hungarian court on Friday ordered the extradition of a former French soldier who is suspected of having murdered a famous Argentinian rugby player last week in Paris.
Following the ruling of a Budapest court, Hungary has to hand over Loik Le Priol to French authorities by April 4.
He is accused of shooting former Argentinian rugby player Federico Martin Aramburu after a heated argument in a bar in the French capital and fleeing the country.
The 27-year-old is a member of the far-right Groupe Union Defense (GUD).
He was arrested at a border crossing between Hungary and Ukraine on Tuesday on a European arrest warrant issued by French authorities.
After knives were found in his car, Le Priol told Hungarian border guards that he was a commando marine and going to fight in Ukraine.
Le Priol served in the special operation forces of the French navy and was deployed in Mali and Djibouti between 2013 and 2015.
He also has a criminal record and was under judicial supervision since 2015 for violently attacking a former GUD leader.
