In Japan, Trump's tweet war on Democrats rages unabated
US president decries plans to give health care to undocumented migrants, declares debate 'BORING' during summit in Japan

ANKARA (AA) - Taking time out from the G20 summit in Japan, U.S. President Donald Trump said he was not impressed with the Democratic debates for the 2020 presidential primary.
Trump tweeted his reaction to Democrats’ healthcare proposals for migrants late Thursday, the second night of the debate, declaring "the race is over."
"All Democrats just raised their hands for giving millions of illegal aliens unlimited healthcare. How about taking care of American Citizens first!? That’s the end of that race!" he said, looking ahead to next year’s presidential elections.
Trump’s voter base is strongly anti-immigrant.
Meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Trump again highlighted the debate among his rivals.
"I just passed a television set on the way here, and I saw that healthcare, and maximum healthcare, was given to 100 percent of the illegal immigrants coming into our country, by the Democrats," Trump said.
"And, unfortunately, they didn’t discuss what they’re giving to American citizens,” he claimed, though a good deal of the debate was devoted to the healthcare issue. “That’s not a good thing."
Trump dismissed the debates as “not very exciting."
"They definitely have plenty of candidates, that’s about it," he added, referring to the crowded field of over 20 Democratic hopefuls.
Round two of the two-night debate -- splitting the Democratic candidates into fields of 10 -- was held Thursday night, featuring heavyweights ex-Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
During round one on Wednesday night, Trump tweeted that the debate was “BORING,” just as the Democrats were discussing the crisis over migrants at the southern border.
Trump himself threatened Mexico with tariffs over the crisis, while the Democrat hopefuls decried children being held in deplorable, substandard conditions by the border service.
