Exercise 'Cyclone' begins in India's western Rajasthan state

NEW DELHI (AA) - A joint special force military exercise between India and Egypt commenced in the western Rajasthan state to enhance “interoperability and exchange of special operations tactics,” officials said on Tuesday.
The Indian Defense Ministry in a statement said the third edition of exercise “Cyclone” commenced on Monday and will run through Feb. 23.
The exercise, an annual event conducted alternatively in India and Egypt, was held in Egypt last year.
Officials said the aim of the drill is to promote “military to military relationship between the two countries through enhancement of interoperability, jointness and mutual exchange of special operations tactics.”
“The exercise will focus on a high degree of physical fitness, joint planning and joint tactical drills,” the ministry said.
