ISTANBUL (AA) - The Israeli military launched a series of airstrikes late Monday targeting various areas of the Gaza Strip, hitting homes, tents sheltering displaced people and vehicles, local sources reported.
Several Palestinians were injured in an airstrike on a tent for displaced people in the Hamad City residential area of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, according to witnesses and medical sources speaking to Anadolu.
Earlier, injuries were reported from the bombing of a house in the Masbah area of Rafah, also in the south.
Israeli warplanes conducted three additional strikes in Gaza City, one targeting an empty Jeep in the al-Tayaran area.
The attacks followed forced evacuation orders for Jabalia, Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun issued earlier in the day.
Since Monday morning, the death toll from Israeli bombardments in Gaza has risen to 43 Palestinians, including women, children and journalists.
The Israeli army launched a surprise aerial campaign on the Gaza Strip on March 18, killing at least 730 people and injuring nearly 1,200 others despite a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took hold in January.
The UN reported that nearly 124,000 people have been displaced again after Israel renewed its assaults and issued “evacuation orders.”
More than 50,000 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and over 113,400 injured in a brutal Israeli military onslaught on Gaza since October 2023.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
