International Criminal Court expresses deep concern about Russia issuing arrest warrant for prosecutor
Karim Khan, who issued arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin, has been put on Russian wanted list

ISTANBUL (AA) - The International Criminal Court (ICC) announced its deep concern Saturday for Russia’s "unacceptable" arrest warrant for prosecutor Karim Khan.
"The International Criminal Court is aware and profoundly concerned about unwarranted and unjustified coercive measures reportedly taken against ICC officials, notably the Prosecutor of the Court and the judges of Pre-Trial Chamber II by the authorities of the Russian Federation," it said.
"The Court will remain undeterred in the conduct of its lawful mandate to ensure accountability for the gravest crimes of concern to the international community as a whole."
Khan, a British lawyer who issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin, has been put on the wanted list in Russia under a criminal article.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in March opened a criminal case against the prosecutor and judges of the ICC, after the Court issued an arrest warrant for Putin.
