Israel orders evacuations in 2 Gaza neighborhoods on Eid’s 2nd day
Israeli army spokesman says residents in Abd al-Rahman, al-Nahda neighborhoods must ‘evacuate immediately’ or face attacks

ANKARA (AA)— On the second day of Eid al-Adha, the Israeli army ordered mass evacuations from two neighborhoods in northern Gaza, warning of imminent military strikes despite ongoing displacement and humanitarian collapse.
Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee said on Saturday that all residents in the Abd al-Rahman neighborhood in northwestern Gaza City and the al-Nahda neighborhood in Jabalia refugee camp must “evacuate immediately southward.”
The areas named in the warning are densely populated and host thousands of displaced Palestinians who had already fled repeated Israeli bombardments earlier in the genocidal war.
Saturday’s warning follows a similar evacuation order on the first day of Eid, in which the Israeli army targeted multiple neighborhoods in northern Gaza.
Israel, rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, has pursued a genocidal offensive in Gaza since October 2023, killing nearly 54,800 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Aid agencies have warned about the risk of famine among the enclave's more than 2 million inhabitants.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war crimes against civilians in the enclave.
