JERUSALEM (AA) - Israel reported rocket fire from Lebanon on Wednesday amid cross-border attacks with Lebanese group Hezbollah.

Several rockets landed in Shtula settlement in Western Galilee in northern Israel, Israeli Channel 12 reported.

No injuries were reported.

The army said its air defenses intercepted “a suspicious aerial target" off the coast of Rosh HaNikra in northern Israel.

Israeli warplanes struck Hezbollah targets in the towns of Ramia and al-Tiri in southern Lebanon, the military said.

Hezbollah, for its part, said that its fighters had struck Israeli spy equipment in the Raheb military site off the town of Ayta al-Shaab.

Tension has flared along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid intermittent exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.

The cross-border escalation comes amid an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip that has killed more than 36,170 people since a Hamas attack last Oct. 7.
