BEIRUT (AA) - Lebanese media reported on Monday said the Israeli army struck a home in southern Lebanon belonging to a Lebanese lawmaker alleged to have close ties to the Hezbollah group.
According to the Lebanese state news agency NNA, the Israeli artillery hit the home of lawmaker Qabalan Qabalan in Mays Al-Jabal area, who is also a member of the Presidency Body of the Amal Movement.
The Amal Movement is a close ally to the Hezbollah group, and its head is the Lebanese parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
No injuries were reported from the Israeli bombing.
Lebanese authorities have not yet commented on the incident.
Since early morning, the Lebanese-Israeli border areas witnessed exchanges of heavy shelling from both sides.
Tension has flared along the border between Israel and Lebanon amid intermittent exchange of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.
The border tension comes as Israel continued its relentless air and ground operations in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Israeli border towns on Oct. 7.
