ISTANBUL (AA) – At least two civilians were killed and one soldier was injured in an Israeli attack on several targets in southern Syria, the Syrian news agency SANA reported Wednesday, citing a military source.
“Around 23:40 on Wednesday evening, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, targeting several points in the southern region,” said SANA on X.
“The aggression resulted in the martyrdom of two individuals, the injury of a military personnel and some material losses,” it added, quoting the source.
“Our air defense systems intercepted and shot down some of the enemy's missiles during the aggression.”
Since the onset of Syria’s civil war in 2011, Israel has periodically launched attacks on Iranian-backed groups and military points belonging to the Syrian army in Syria.
