GAZA, Palestine (AA) – At least 22 Palestinians were killed and many others wounded in Israeli airstrikes targeting locations across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.
The information was provided by Mahmoud Basal, the spokesperson for the Palestinian Civil Defense.
In the northern Gaza Strip, two Israeli strikes claimed the lives of seven Palestinians, according to Basal. Six people were killed or injured in an attack near the Sheikh Zayed Towers, while another person died in a strike at the Houja intersection in the Jabalia refugee camp.
In Gaza Governorate, Basal said that 10 Palestinians were killed in four airstrikes. One of the strikes targeted a house belonging to the Joudeh family in the Sheikh Radwan area, killing five people.
Another strike hit a house belonging to the Ladawi family in eastern Zaytoun, killing two Palestinians. A third strike in the same neighborhood targeted a group of civilians, resulting in two more deaths, while a fourth strike on a house owned by the Madhoon family in the Daraj neighborhood left one Palestinian dead.
In the central region of Gaza, three airstrikes killed five Palestinians. The first strike targeted a house belonging to the Farajallah family in the Nuseirat refugee camp, killing three people.
Another Palestinian was killed in a strike on civilians in the Nuseirat refugee camp, while the fifth was killed in an artillery strike near Dawah Street east of the camp.
Additionally, Basal noted that rescue teams had recovered the bodies of two Palestinians from Al-Shakoush Street northwest of Rafah, though the exact date of their deaths was not specified.
More than 40,800 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed since the start of the Israel-Hamas war on Oct. 7 last year and nearly 94,400 others injured, according to local health authorities.
An ongoing blockade of the enclave has led to severe shortages of food, clean water and medicine, leaving much of the region in ruins.
Israel also faces accusations of genocide for its actions in Gaza at the International Court of Justice.
