BEIRUT (AA) - Hezbollah exchanged cross-border fire Thursday with the Israeli army amid growing escalation along the border between Lebanon and Israel.

The Lebanese group said in a statement that it attacked an Israeli "Radar site in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms," and inflicted direct hits.

In another statement, the group said it hit the Jal al-Alam site with appropriate weapons and achieved direct hits.

Hezbollah said it also targeted one of the Israeli army's air defense platforms with two explosive attack drones in northern Israel, and a achieved direct hit.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese official news agency NNA reported Israeli attacks on several areas across southern Lebanon.

Israeli artillery shelling targeted the towns of Mansouri and Bazouriye, leaving at least one woman injured from shells that hit her home in Bazouriye, said NNA.

Tension has flared along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid intermittent exchange of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.

The border tension comes amid an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
