RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – Two Palestinians on Thursday were injured and 15 others detained by the Israeli forces in raids across the occupied West Bank.

Local sources told Anadolu that the Israeli forces raided the Beita town, northern West Bank, and clashed with Palestinians.

The Israeli army used rubber-coated bullets and teargas canisters against the Palestinians who responded by throwing stones, the sources added.

Eyewitnesses also told Anadolu that the Israeli forces raided the Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem city, southern West Bank, and clashed with Palestinians.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society, a nongovernmental organization, said that 15 Palestinians across the West Bank, including 10 from the Aida refugee camp and the Dheisha refugee camp in Bethlehem, were detained.

The Israeli army is yet to comment on the NGO statement.

The Israeli army frequently carries out wide-ranging arrest campaigns across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians.

According to Palestinian official figures, the Israeli army detains nearly 5,100 Palestinians, including 165 children, 33 women and 1,200 others held under the Israeli notorious administrative detention without charge or trial.
