Israeli army kills Palestinian in Jenin
Israeli army claims 3 Palestinians killed in Jenin, but no confirmation from Palestinian side
By Qais Abu Samra
RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - The Israeli army on Wednesday killed a Palestinian man in West Bank's Jenin refugee camp.
The Palestinian Health Ministry identified him as Arif Marwan Ali, 26, from the village of Kafr Qaddoum.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its medical teams transferred two other wounded people from the camp to the hospital.
Late on Tuesday, the Israeli public broadcaster KAN claimed that an Israeli army undercover unit disguised as Palestinians raided the camp and killed three Palestinians.
The Palestinian side is yet to confirm the claim.
On Tuesday night, eyewitnesses told Anadolu that the Israeli army raided the Jenin refugee camp, escorted with bulldozers, and clashed with Palestinians.
Tensions have been high across the West Bank since Israel launched a deadly military offensive against the Gaza Strip since a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
At least 400 Palestinians from the West Bank have been killed by the Israeli forces and settlers since Oct. 7, in addition to over 4,440 others injured.
Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which in an interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocidal acts and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
