Israeli army says its fighter jets intercepted 4 drones from Lebanon, the east, in reference to Iraq

JERUSALEM (AA) – The Israeli army said Monday that some 60 rockets were fired by Hezbollah from Lebanon into northern Israel.
A military statement said that 30 rockets were launched from Lebanese territory into Upper Galilee, with some intercepted while others impacted open areas.
The army said it detected the launch of 30 other rockets towards Western Galilee.
No injuries or damage were reported in the rocket fire.
According to Israeli media, rocket sirens sounded in several areas in northern Israel, including the cities of Acre, Nahariya, Safed, and Israeli settlements close to the Lebanese border.
Earlier, the Israeli army said that its fighter jets had intercepted four combat drones fired from Lebanon and the east, in reference to Iraq but without providing any further details.
Israel has escalated its air campaign in Lebanon since late September against what it claims are Hezbollah targets in an escalation from year-long cross-border warfare between Israel and the Lebanese group since the start of Israel’s brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip.
Nearly 3,000 people have been killed and more than 13,300 injured in Israeli attacks since October 2023, according to Lebanese health authorities.
Israel expanded the conflict by launching an incursion into southern Lebanon on Oct. 1 this year.
