JERUSALEM (AA) - The Israeli army said it targeted a Hezbollah weapons production site, command center, military buildings and a militant cell in four areas of southern Lebanon with airstrikes late Tuesday.

“The IAF (Israeli Air Force) conducted an intelligence-based strike on a Hezbollah weapons manufacturing facility in the area of Jouaiyya in southern Lebanon,” a military statement said.

“Additionally, the IAF struck a Hezbollah military command center alongside military structures in the areas of Nabaiteh, Mansouri and Kfarkela in southern Lebanon,” the statement added.

The Israeli army also reported that its forces targeted a “terrorist cell” in the Houla area.

Following warnings issued in the Upper Galilee region, the army said it identified several suspicious aerial targets infiltrating from Lebanon.

The army noted that “some of the targets were intercepted. Fallen targets were identified in an area adjacent to (Kibbutz) Amiad. No injuries were reported.”

Hezbollah said it “targeted the northern corps' reserve headquarters and the logistics bases of the Israeli Galilee Division in Ami'ad in northern Israel with swarms of explosive drones.”

In separate statements, the Lebanese group claimed responsibility for targeting “Israeli soldiers stationed at the Al-Raheb site with appropriate weapons.”

The group also said it struck Israeli surveillance equipment at the Al-Abbad site with “appropriate weapons.”

Tensions have spiked along Lebanon's border with Israel amid cross-border attacks between Hezbollah and Israeli forces as Tel Aviv presses ahead with a brutal onslaught on the Gaza Strip, which has killed over 41,000 people since Oct. 7 last year following an attack by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas.
