JERUSALEM (AA) - The Israeli army on Friday said it had targeted an organization in Syria, which it holds responsible for launching an armed drone attack on southern Israel.
While the Israeli military did not specify the name of the organization, it accused the group of firing a drone that struck a school in the city of Eilat.
Details regarding the location of the Israeli airstrike within Syria were not disclosed by the army.
“The Syrian regime is fully responsible for all terror activity that is carried out from Syrian territory," the Israeli army's statement said.
On Thursday, Israeli media reported a huge explosion in one of the schools in Eilat city.
Israel has launched relentless air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas on Oct. 7.
At least 11,078 Palestinians have been killed, including 4,506 children and 3,027 women. The Israeli death toll, meanwhile, is nearly 1,600, according to official figures.
