JERUSALEM, Palestine (AA) - An Israeli man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly spying for Iran, police said.
Daniel Kitov, 26, a resident of Petah Tikva, east of Tel Aviv, was in contact with an Iranian entity for months and spray-painted walls in the city for money, the police and the Shin Bet domestic security service said in a joint statement.
The suspect was allegedly asked to photograph the house of the Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar and Israeli military bases, the statement said, adding that Kitov also offered to photograph the house of opposition leader Benny Gantz.
According to the statement, the suspect was asked about the names of Air Force pilots, but he did not provide information about this.
An indictment is expected to be issued against Kitov on Thursday.
There was no immediate comment from Iran on the Israeli claim.
In recent years, Israel and Iran announced on several occasions the dismantling of spy networks amid continued rivalry between the two arch-foes.
