BEIRUT, Lebanon (AA) - An Israeli interception missile fell Tuesday on the grounds of a government school in the town of Yater in southern Lebanon, damaging a car belonging to its principal. No casualties were reported, the Lebanese News Agency (NNA) said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese group Hezbollah announced on Tuesday that it had targeted three Israeli sites and points along the southern Lebanese border.

The group said in separate statements that its fighters targeted Israeli artillery positions in the vicinity of the village of Kfarchouba “with appropriate weapons, achieving results.”

Hezbollah on Tuesday also targeted Israeli soldiers in the vicinity of Jal Al Alam, northern Israel “with appropriate weapons, achieving results,” the group added.

The military group also said it targeted the Israeli site of Al-Malikiya, opposite the Lebanese border, and claimed to have achieved results.

Tension has flared along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid intermittent exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.

The border tension comes amid an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
