Israeli shelling strikes Lebanese border towns amid tensions
Artillery shelling targets Naqoura, Labbouneh towns in southern Lebanon

BEIRUT (AA) – Israeli artillery shelling struck Lebanese border towns on Monday amid rising tensions, according to Lebanese media.
Lebanon’s Official News Agency said the shelling targeted the outskirts of Naqoura and Labbouneh in southern Lebanon.
No casualties were reported.
The broadcaster said Israeli reconnaissance planes flew over the southern city of Tyre and the Litani River.
For about a month, the Israeli-Lebanese border has witnessed intermittent exchanges of fire between the Israeli army and Lebanese group Hezbollah, in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.
The border tensions come amid Israeli air and ground attacks in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7.
More than 11,300 people have been killed in the conflict, including at least 9,770 Palestinians and nearly 1,600 Israelis.
