ISTANBUL (AA) - Japan on Monday said it seeks to “further” work with India, in “co-creating” new solutions through dialogue and collaboration.

The comments by Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko came during her meeting with Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar, according to a statement by the Japanese Foreign Ministry.

Yoko said the world is at a “turning point in history” and Tokyo wants to “further strengthen” cooperation with New Delhi.

Jaishankar is in Tokyo where he attended the Quad meeting with counterparts from Japan, the US, and Australia.

The US-led Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, commonly known as Quad, is a loose security alliance between the four nations.

Tokyo and New Delhi this year also mark the 10th year of the Japan-India special strategic global partnership.

Yoko and Jaishankar “concurred to continue to strengthen a wide range of efforts on bilateral cooperation including the steady progress on the high-speed rail project.”
