ANKARA (AA) – Japan's ambassador to Turkey on Thursday paid a visit to Anadolu Agency's headquarters in the capital Ankara.
Kazuhiro Suzuki was welcomed by Serdar Karagoz, the agency's director general, and Yusuf Ozhan, the deputy director general and editor-in-chief.
Karagoz said Turkey and Japan have unique relations and there are no points of contention.
"We should improve our cooperation as we have the potential to do this," he said. "We are going to start a new dialogue between Anadolu agency and Japanese media," Karagoz said.
"We should support some social projects between the two countries and focus more and more on cultural heritage," he noted.
We need to explain Japanese culture to Turkish people, Karagoz added.
Suzuki, for his part, said Turkey and Japan have long friendly relations.
"Turkey and Japan relations are very important for us. We like to improve these relations in terms of culture and social solidarity issues", Suzuki said.
"Turkey and Japan have some common perspectives. We should utilize this positive perception between the two countries and cooperate more and more", he noted.
Underlining that the two countries have a good perception of each other, Suzuki said Japan wants to strengthen people to people relationship between the two countries.
Ambassador Suzuki urged further cooperation between the two countries' media organizations.
