Japanese princess tests positive for COVID-19
Princess Kako to rest at hotel in western Japan through Thursday

ANKARA (AA) — Princess Kako, the niece of Japanese Emperor Naruhito, tested positive for COVID-19, local media reported on Sunday.
Kako, the younger daughter of Crown Prince Fumihito and Crown Princess Kiko, canceled her attendance at an event in Tottori prefecture in western Japan, and will rest at a hotel through Thursday, according to the Tokyo-based Kyodo News.
Citing the Imperial Household Agency, Kyodo News said the 28-year-old princess felt discomfort in her throat on Saturday night. She developed a fever by Sunday morning and tested positive for the virus.
Kako arrived in Tottori on Saturday to attend a sign language performance event by high school students. She was not wearing a face mask when she met with the students.
