ISTANBUL (AA) – Japan’s largest port on Thursday resumed partial operations after facing a “system hack.”
The Nagoya port in central Japan “partially restarts operation after system hack,” Tokyo-based Kyodo News reported.
Nagoya Port handles largest volume of Japan’s cargo.
The hacking had “halted the loading of containers onto trailer trucks since Tuesday morning” after undergoing “computer glitch,” public broadcaster NHK reported.
The computer system manages container loading, unloading and transport at all five container terminals.
Hacking group LockBit 3.0 had demanded “ransom in exchange for returning control,” according to NHK.
